What the data shows

Nearly two-thirds of companies score 90% or higher on CSAT, so a high score rarely sets you apart.
Advocacy is harder to earn than satisfaction. Scoring 70 on NPS puts you in the top quarter of companies.
NPS falls sharply for companies with over 1,000 employees, while CSAT changes relatively little with company size.
On satisfaction, industry matters far more than company size.

Overview

CSAT at a glance

Customer satisfaction scores run high. Nearly two-thirds of companies score 90% or above, while fewer than one in ten score below 60%.

NPS at a glance

Companies are far more spread out on NPS than on CSAT. Just over half score 50 or above, and about one in twelve scores below zero.

By segment

Company size

CSAT barely moves with company size. NPS is a different story: it drops to 35 at companies above 1,000 employees, well below the 52 average.

By industry

Satisfied customers, quiet promoters

Technology tops satisfaction at 92.4% and sits seventh of eight on advocacy. Healthcare & Life Sciences leads NPS at 74, but has a middling CSAT score.

High CSAT doesn't guarantee high NPS, or vice versa. The difference between the two can tell you where to look next.
