Import feedback from your previous survey tool
Switching feedback tools shouldn't mean starting your history at zero. Years of CSAT and NPS are what make next quarter's numbers mean something. Simplesat imports your past feedback so trends, leaderboards, and reports carry straight on from where your old tool left off.
How it works in Simplesat
1. Export your history from the old tool
Download a CSV from your current platform. Our importing feedback guide covers exactly what the file needs to contain.
2. Have a survey ready to receive it
Imported responses map to an existing survey, so create your Simplesat survey first, or pick the one you already run. Old and new feedback then live in one dataset and the trend line is continuous.
3. Import from the Feedback page
Go to the Feedback page, click Import, and upload your CSV. Exports from Delighted, Medallia, Qualtrics, and other popular tools are pre-mapped, so you don't have to reshape the file. Ratings, comments, dates, and customers come along, and if you also import and sync customers, responses link to customer records by email address and carry that richer context with them.
4. See your history in dashboards and reports
Imported responses show up like any other feedback: filter by date, watch the moving average, and run reports that span the switch instead of starting the day you moved.
5. Start collecting new feedback
You've brought the past with you; now point your surveys at the present. New responses flow into the same surveys, so there's no gap in coverage and nothing resets.
What you can do
- Pre-mapped CSV imports for Delighted, Medallia, Qualtrics, and more
- Bring ratings, comments, dates, and customers with the import
- Link responses to customer records by email with customer import and sync
- CSV carries one primary plus one follow-up question; richer history goes through the API
- Import before your old tool sunsets and you lose access to the export
- Our support team can help with CSV shaping and troubleshooting if you get stuck
Frequently asked questions
How far back can I import feedback?
There's no documented limit; bring as much history as your export contains.
Can I import from a tool that isn't pre-mapped?
Yes. Any export that fits the standard CSV template (ratings, comments, emails, dates) can be imported; pre-mapping just saves the reformatting step.
Will imported feedback change my current scores?
It shows up in dashboards and reports like any feedback, and date filters keep your periods clean.
Delighted is shutting down. What's my deadline?
Export before end-of-life; the import works the same before or after, but only if you have the CSV.
