Delighted has shut down: how to migrate and what you can still recover
Last updated: October 26, 2026
Delighted closed on June 30, 2026. Customer access has ended, and Delighted said it would delete customer data after that date. Today, delighted.com sends visitors to a Qualtrics page saying the product is no longer available.
If your team used it, you have two things to sort out: a new tool for your surveys, and a home for whatever history you saved. This guide walks through both.
The short version
- If you exported a CSV, your results can move to a new tool, with their original dates.
- If you didn't, your Delighted data is most likely gone. Some feedback may still live in tools Delighted was connected to, like Google Sheets or Slack.
- If you're choosing a replacement, Qualtrics suits research-heavy teams. Simplesat suits support teams that liked how simple Delighted was.
What happened to Delighted
Qualtrics bought Delighted in 2018 and shut it down in stages:
- July 1, 2025: annual contracts stopped renewing, and customers moved to monthly plans.
- May 31, 2026: monthly subscriptions stopped renewing.
- June 30, 2026: customer access ended.
Qualtrics pointed former customers to its own platform. Delighted's sunset FAQ names the Qualtrics XM for Customer Experience Suite as the replacement.
What you can and can't recover
What you can recover
You can recover anything your team exported before your access ended. Delighted exported one CSV file per project, with one row per response. Each row holds the score, the comment, the date, the customer's details and any extra properties you sent along, and those files can be imported into another tool.
What you can't recover
You can't recover anything that was never exported. Delighted's app is closed for good, and no tool can pull data out of it now, Simplesat included.
Where to look before you give up
Most exports end up in a shared drive or someone's downloads folder. If yours isn't there, check these too:
Your inbox. Search your email for messages from Delighted about an export. Larger exports, roughly 500 responses or more, arrived as an emailed download link rather than a direct download. The link may have expired, but whoever received it ran the export and may still have the file.
Tools Delighted was connected to. Delighted could send responses to Google Sheets, a data warehouse, Salesforce, Gladly and Slack. A spreadsheet or warehouse table can be saved as a CSV and imported just like an export. Slack messages won't rebuild your trend line, but they still hold real customer comments.
Find your situation
You exported, but haven't picked a replacement
You're in the best position. Store the original files somewhere safe and work on copies, so you always have a clean version to go back to.
Next, read how to choose a replacement below, run a trial with your real helpdesk connected, and import your history once you've decided. There's no rush on the files: an export from June imports just as well today.
You switched in a hurry and want to check the choice
Qualtrics is a strong choice if you need a research platform and have someone to run it. If you picked Delighted because it was simple, and your new tool feels like more than your team needs, see the comparison below.
Switching again doesn't mean losing your history. As long as you keep your Delighted CSV, it can still move. If you've already moved your history into Qualtrics, Simplesat can import a Qualtrics export too. If you're on an annual contract, check when the term ends, so you know when a switch makes sense.
You never exported
Your Delighted results are most likely gone, but check the places listed above first. Then focus on what comes next: you can have a new survey collecting ratings this week.
If NPS is the program you most want to protect, read how to protect your NPS program. It explains how to keep your NPS trend comparable when you change tools.
How to choose a replacement
Delighted worked because customers finished the survey and teams could run it without outside help. A good replacement keeps both. Here's what to check.
Survey types. Delighted offered NPS, CSAT, CES, 5-star, smileys, thumbs, employee NPS and product-market fit. List the ones your team actually used, and make sure the new tool covers them.
Helpdesk integration. If your surveys went out after support conversations, this matters most. Look for an integration built for your helpdesk rather than a webhook (an automated message one app sends to another). Then check whether ratings land back on the ticket.
Reporting. A score on its own tells you how things are going. A score with the agent, ticket and customer attached tells you what to do about it. Check whether you can see results by agent, and whether you get an alert when a low rating comes in.
Support. Find out who helps you move, whether that costs extra, and whether a real person answers your questions.
Setup. Delighted needed almost none. Ask how long it takes to send the first survey, and whether you'll need training, an implementation project or a consultant.
Price. Find out whether pricing is published or quoted, what it's based on (seats, responses or a contract), and whether you can pay monthly.
Qualtrics and Simplesat side by side
Qualtrics was Delighted's official next step, so it's the natural comparison. The two are built for different teams.
| Qualtrics | Simplesat | |
|---|---|---|
| Built for | Company-wide CX, employee and research programs, run by researchers and program owners | Support and CX teams collecting feedback on their own conversations |
| Survey types | Customer, employee and research surveys | CSAT (with icons including smileys and thumbs), NPS, CES and 5-star. No employee NPS or product-market fit |
| Analytics | Advanced analytics and statistical tools | Dashboards, reports and agent leaderboards. No statistical modeling |
| Setup | Implementation services and training available | Live the day you sign up. Most teams are collecting feedback within a few days |
| Help moving from Delighted | Self-paced training courses | Free on every plan: we review your file, run the import, rebuild your surveys, connect your helpdesk and set up alerts and workflows with you |
| Pricing | Customer experience plans priced by quote. The only paid plan sold online is a research plan, billed annually | Published and based on monthly responses. Billed monthly or annually |
Choose Qualtrics if you run research across several audiences or departments, need statistical analysis, or want employee surveys alongside customer feedback.
Choose Simplesat if you picked Delighted because it was quick and your team ran it themselves. Our Delighted alternative page compares the two products in more detail.
What Simplesat does differently
The survey feels familiar. Customers rate with one click, right in your support email, then add a comment if they want to say more. You set the branding, question, colors and rating icons.
Each rating comes with context. It arrives with the customer, ticket and agent attached, and it can go back on the ticket it came from. Agents see their own feedback in the helpdesk, without a Simplesat login. Low scores can trigger an alert by email, Slack or Teams.
It plugs into your helpdesk. Simplesat works with Zendesk, Gladly, Gorgias, Intercom, Kustomer, Help Scout, Front, Freshdesk, Salesforce and 100+ other tools.
NPS can go out beyond support. Send it as a recurring email, a shareable link or an SMS link, or embed it on your website.
Pricing doesn't grow with your team. Plans are based on monthly responses, and there's no limit on how many agents can be rated, on any plan. Adding agents doesn't change your bill.
"When we switched over to Simplesat, I was so thankful - it was three days or less and we were up and running."
- CX manager, high-volume B2C retail brand
Moving to Simplesat, step by step
- Start a free trial. It lasts 14 days, and you don't need a credit card.
- Connect your helpdesk. Set up the integration so ratings arrive with the ticket and agent attached.
- Build your surveys. Create one Simplesat survey for each Delighted survey you want to keep, using a CSAT, NPS, CES or 5-star question.
- Prepare your file. Run the checks in the next section before you import.
- Import your CSV. Choose the Delighted preset, a ready-made match between Delighted's columns and Simplesat's fields. Check the matches before you confirm.
- Set up alerts. Decide who hears about low scores, and where.
- Send your first survey.
If you'd rather not do this alone, our migration team can review your file, run the import, rebuild your surveys, connect your helpdesk and set up alerts and workflows with you. It's free on every plan.
Check your file before you import
1. The rating scale matches. Your survey's scale has to match the scores in your file exactly. A file of 0 to 10 scores imports into a 0 to 10 survey, but fails on every row in a 1 to 5 survey.
2. Comments are allowed where your file has them. If your Delighted survey asked for a comment after every score, set your Simplesat comment question to appear after every rating. Otherwise, a row with a comment won't import if your survey skips the comment question for that rating, and its score is lost too.
3. Dates are month-first. The importer reads 05/10/2023 as May 10, not 5 October, and doesn't flag it as an error. If your file puts the day first, convert the whole date column (to 2023-10-05, for example) before importing.
To make the import easier to manage:
- Match Delighted's response ID to Ticket ID. If you need to fix the file later, importing it again updates those responses instead of duplicating them.
- Test a big file first. Import the first 20 rows, check them, then run the rest.
What imports
Each import goes into one survey, and there's no row limit. Imported responses don't count toward your monthly responses. With a date column, every response keeps its original date, so a rating from last March appears in last March's results and your trend line carries on from Delighted.
| Field | What to know |
|---|---|
| Rating | Required |
| Date | Keeps the original date. Without it, responses are dated the day you import |
| Comment | Imports only on ratings where your survey asks for a comment |
| Multiple-choice answer | Must match one of your question's choices |
| Customer name and email | Without an email, the response imports as anonymous |
| Ticket ID and subject | Links the response to a ticket |
| Team member | Needs the agent's email or helpdesk ID. A name alone won't link the response to an agent |
| Language | Use a code such as en, not a language name |
Each row brings in one rating and one follow-up answer. If your Delighted surveys asked more questions, the extra answers need the API (Simplesat's developer interface). API imports do count toward your monthly responses, so talk to us before a large one. Our importing guide has the full details.
Your migration checklist
Gather what you have
- Find every Delighted CSV your team saved, and keep untouched copies.
- Check Google Sheets, your data warehouse and Slack for feedback that was never exported.
- List the survey types you used, and which ones you still need.
- Note who used to read the results, and how often.
Prepare the move
- Choose your replacement, and start a trial with your helpdesk connected.
- Create a survey for each one you're keeping, on the matching scale.
- Set each comment question to appear after every rating your file has comments on.
- Check your files for day-first dates, and for agent emails or IDs.
Import and launch
- Import each file and check the field mapping.
- Compare a few imported responses against the original file.
- Set up alerts for low scores.
- Send your first survey, and tell your team where results live now.
"Since switching to Simplesat, our CSAT response rate rose from under 3% to over 10% with surveys customers actually answer."
- Francey F., Manager of Customer Support, Moves
Who should look elsewhere
Simplesat isn't the right replacement for every Delighted customer. A research platform such as Qualtrics is a better fit if:
- You need research tools, like conjoint analysis (a method for testing which product features people value most) or complex studies across several audiences.
- Your main use is employee surveys. Simplesat is built for customer feedback and doesn't offer employee NPS.
FAQ
Can I still log in to Delighted?
No. Customer access ended on June 30, 2026.
Can Simplesat pull my data out of Delighted?
No. Importing only works from a file you already have. If nobody exported, check the tools Delighted sent responses to, like Google Sheets or a data warehouse.
Will my old responses keep their original dates?
Yes, if your file has a date column. If it puts the day first, convert those dates before you import.
Do imported responses count toward my plan?
Not from a CSV, and there's no row limit. Responses added through the API do count.
I moved my history into Qualtrics. Can it still come to Simplesat?
Yes. Export it from Qualtrics as a CSV, and choose the Qualtrics preset when you import.
Can I bring over employee NPS or product-market-fit surveys?
Not into Simplesat, which doesn't offer those survey types. Keep the files for your records, or use a tool built for employee and product research.
How long does it take to switch?
You can send your first survey the day you sign up. Most teams are collecting feedback within a few days.
What does migration help cost?
Nothing, on any plan. Our team can review your file, run the import, rebuild your surveys, connect your helpdesk and set up alerts and workflows with you.
I mostly care about keeping my NPS trend. Where should I start?
