Simplesat counts the rating the moment a customer clicks it in the email, just like Customer Thermometer. The difference is how much you can ask next, and where a bad rating goes.
Customer Thermometer
is best for...
Teams that learn enough from one question, with a few preset reasons and a comment box on the page after the click.
Simplesat is best for...
Support and service-desk teams who want the click to open a short survey, and a bad rating to become a ticket.
Simplesat vs. Customer Thermometer

Why teams switch
Ask the next question
Ask an unhappy customer what went wrong, then whether it's fixed now. The rating counts on the first click, so if they stop there, you still have it.
Turn a bad rating into a ticket
Pick the ratings that need a follow-up, and each becomes a ticket in Zendesk, Freshdesk, ConnectWise, or Autotask. Your team works it like any other.
Tell the praise from the complaint
A single comment often holds both: the agent was great, the wait was not. From the Pro plan, AI finds every topic in it and the sentiment of each.

What is
Customer Thermometer
Customer Thermometer is a one-click feedback tool for emails, signatures, and web pages. Each survey asks one question, answered with one of four icons or an 11-point NPS scale, and a thank-you page can offer preset reasons and a comment box. One question is a deliberate choice, made to keep response rates up.
For plenty of support teams, that's enough. It stops being enough when you want to ask a second question. Or when you want a bad rating to become a ticket in the helpdesk or PSA where your team already works, not a follow-up loop inside Customer Thermometer. Simplesat does both.
Frequently asked questions
Can't Customer Thermometer already ask why?
Yes. After the click, its thank-you page can offer a comment box and up to eight preset reasons, which it calls Response Drivers. What it won't do is ask a second question: its help center says it is "not possible to have more than one question per survey." If a reason and a comment tell you enough, one question works, and if you need a second, Simplesat can ask it.
What will our customers see?
The quickest way to find out is to be the customer. Customer Thermometer's site will email you a sample survey, and in Simplesat's 14-day free trial, with no credit card, you can send a survey email to your own inbox. Click the lowest rating in each and see what opens.
Where can a bad rating open a ticket?
In Zendesk, Freshdesk, Freshservice, Gorgias, HubSpot, and LiveAgent, and in the PSAs ConnectWise, Autotask, HaloPSA, and Syncro. From the Pro plan, it can open a case in Salesforce. Help Scout, Front, Kustomer, and Intercom don't get a follow-up ticket. The ticket comes on top of the feedback written back to the original one, not instead of it.
Will our agents still get the credit?
Yes. Good ratings can post to a Slack or Teams channel, leaderboards rank team members, and dashboards show each person's results and the comments behind them. Agents see their own feedback inside the helpdesk.
Does Simplesat work with Gladly?
Yes, through a native app. The survey can go out by email or SMS when a conversation closes, the response shows inside that conversation, and a bad rating can create a task. Customer Thermometer doesn't list Gladly in its directory or help center, though its universal method works with any tool that takes HTML or links.
What does moving from Customer Thermometer involve?
Connect your helpdesk or PSA, create your survey, and put it in the email templates where Customer Thermometer's icons sit today. Most teams are collecting feedback within a few days, though larger rollouts with custom triggers, several brands, or a security review can take a few weeks. Past ratings come over as a CSV export from Customer Thermometer: you match the columns by hand, and a date column keeps each rating's original date. Importing is free, and our team can help.
